A Better Florist

Learn Flower Hacks and Basic Floristry at A Better Florist’s Flower Jamming Session

Tired of bland and boring floral arrangements? Why not learn floristry hacks and professional flower arrangement so you can personalise bouquets for your loved ones!

The renewed interest in the flower industry has forced old-fashioned brick and mortar flower shops to keep up with the times not only in terms of cost, but also the overall presentation and packaging. Up your floral game by learning the basics in floristry, including modern floral arrangements and flower care.

A Better Florist is opening its doors every Saturday for its weekly Flower Jam Session. Whether you’re looking for fun date activities, quality time with the family or searching for a new hobby—we've got you covered. This week’s jam session will focus on succulents and Australian wild flowers[D1] . The plump and hardy succulents are excellent alternatives to the usual filler flowers for their interesting texture and appearance[D2] .

Flower bouquets and fresh cut flowers are no longer just luxury purchases or limited to special occasions. They are now slowly being incorporated into interior designs and apartment living. The good news is, the proliferation of online florists in Singapore have made blooming your house even easier by catering to all your floral needs. Fresh flowers and succulents help remind urbanites of the lush outdoors in an increasingly tech-saturated and artificial environment. Through floral subscriptions, you can get quality and in season flowers at affordable prices. So add some life and warmth to drab and dull rooms by blooming your home with beautiful flower displays.

By participating in our flower jam sessions, even cheap flowers can be transformed into classy décor and luxurious bouquets. Come and learn from one of our talented team of florists on how to bring more beauty and more joy into this world.

Enjoy a special rate of only $40 per person!
(For the First 3 Sign-ups).

Visited on 20 May 2017 (Sat).

Rejoice high tea lovers! Finally there's a new great place to have a relaxing high tea!

Indulge in a lavish affair from artisanal desserts, signature Hilton cheesecakes, freshly baked scones, Teppanyaki ice cream to Swiss Raclette cheese, pulled pork sliders and more.

The high tea is launched by D9 Cakery but the actual venue is inside Opus Bar and Grill restaurant. As the restaurant only opens for dinner, D9 cakery uses the restaurant for high tea on Saturday. What a smart way to utilise the restaurant!

Freshly Baked Scones
The scones lack the aromatic buttery taste and the texture was a tad hard. I expected the clotted cream to be sweet, but I don't understand why the taste was savoury instead?

Lemon Chocolate Fountain
It's a nice surprise to see a lemon chocolate fountain! But I forgot to try it! :(

Teppanyaki Ice-Cream Live Station
Flavour on that day: Chocolate

Chef Live Cooking Station

Chicken and Mutton Satay

Don't miss out on their satay - They're fabulous! The meat was extremely tender!

Satay Condiments

Laksa Station

Fantastic Laksa

Perhaps they put more coconut milk, the gravy here was very fragrant and addictive!

Smoked Salmon with Black Bread
This is my favourite here! This is my first time to see finger sandwiches in black bread. Hope to see more black bread in buffets!

Tortilla Wrap with Roasted Chicken

Arugula with Avocado & Vine Tomato

Quinda Salad with Chick Pea & Bean Salad

Spicy Tuna On Hard Roll

Har Gau

Siew Mai

Mee Tai Bak

Red Bean Pau

Egg Custard Pau

Portuguese Egg Tart

Vegetable Quiche (Left)
Croque Monsieur (Right)

Pulled Pork Slider

This is how the ingredients looked like inside! The taste was delicious!

Pork Curry Bun with Floss

Creme Brulee Tea
I love creme brulee dessert so i was really delighted to find creme brulee tea in the menu! Very light buttery aroma with a finish that tastes like caramel.

Cappucino / Regular Coffee
They served illy coffee here. Love the roasted coffee scent!

Overall Impression: Their service was quite good except the clearing of plates was relatively slow. The disappointing part in the buffet was the variety of desserts which all looked very pretty but tasted just average. To be honest, none of the dessert were outstanding. Creme brulee definitely needs some improvement. It was very dry and without much torched caramelized sugar on it. Scones were not good too.

The rest of the food were not bad, just that I found the pulled pork sliders to be difficult to eat for high tea. Haha! I like their coffee and TWG tea selection though! Good range and quality. Overall it was still quite a nice experience with cosy ambience, worth visiting at least once.

Note: Complimentary carpark coupon provided!
